THE LEGEND
OF THE LOST LIGHT
 
 
 
 
 
 

He wrapped up the light

in the shade of  the night.

For he wanted to live

his life

in darkness.

And the shades of  night

covered him

with peace and love

but one evening

he became tired

living in the dumbness of silence

and took the shade of sleep

and destroyed it.

So he lost

his quietness and his sleep.

He kept searching

for the waters of life

and they accepted him

into their opened waves

as loving arms.

He became loved and rocked

and forgot the bitterness of time.

He noticed soon

that oblivion never respects

the path of history

and didn't recognize

himself anymore.

The wave he loved most

vanished among

thousands and thousands

of smiling waves.

He refused their smiles

and gave up all

to search for the soul

into the conscience of the truth

and found

white arms and an ardent mouth

and he loved her desperately

till annulling himself,

hearing other sounds

of other boundaries,

listening to the promise of the sky

in the dawn of a day

that doesn't know its own end.

And the Sun came to him

high and bright

like it never had been

like he never had seen it

and he felt shame.

Then he hid his face

in his hands and kept silent.

Not a word

neither a requested forgiveness

went out from his lips

He only turned back

when the light brightened

the truth

that immediately vanished.

He cried.

After, he looked up the to Sun and said:

" I found you again

hot light of life,

light of my dreams and of the mind,

light of my thoughts and of the will.

And the sun of the light

blew the power on winds

and cloud by cloud

clinging to celestial planets

with his desperate strength

to be a man

reached out to the Sun

and folded his knees.

After with stretched fingers

wrote on the walls of the sky:

- I wasted my life

searching for nothing

I feel myself buried now

into this immensity

and I ask for mercy.-

The sky felt pity

and a white cloud

the whitest

among all white clouds

blinding and unintelligible

like the infinite

wrapped him up

into the Sun

the same Sun

that he had stifled

and his eyes

wore the light of his tears.

" Who are you? "

- I'm the light of hope

of a different world

I haven't securities for anyone.

I am the light of the truth

that you extinguish each day

I don't offer you any certainty.

The man closed his eyes,

wiped his tears

and stretched his hand

to the light!

LA LEGGENDA
DELLA LUCE PERDUTA.
 
 
 

Aveva avvolto la luce
nell'ombra della notte,
per questo volle
vivere nel buio
la sua vita.
E le ombre della notte
lo coprirono di pace e d'amore
ma una sera stanco
di vivere il mutismo del silenzio
prese l'ombra del sonno
e la distrusse.
Perse cosi' sonno e quiete.
Si mise a cercare
le acque della vita
e loro lo accettarono
ad onde aperte
come braccia d'amore.
Fu amato e cullato
e dimentico' l'amarezza del tempo.
S'accorse presto
che l'oblio non rispetta mai
il pensiero della storia
e non riconobbe piu' se stesso.
L'onda che piu' aveva amato
svani' tra mille e mille
sorridenti onde.
Rifiuto' i loro sorrisi
e lascio' tutto per cercare l'anima
nella coscienza della verita'.
Trovo' cosi' braccia candide
e una bocca ardente
e l'amo' perdutamente
sino ad annullarsi,
a sentire suoni d'altri confini,
ad ascoltare la promessa del cielo
all'alba di un giorno
che non ha piu' fine.
E il Sole venne a lui
alto e splendente
come non lo era mai stato
come mai
l'aveva visto
e provo' vergogna.
Si chiuse il viso tra le mani
e tacque.
Non una parola
ne' un richiesto perdono
uscirono dalla sue labbra.
Si volto' solo quando la luce
illumino' la verita'
che subito svani'.
Pianse.
Poi si volto' al Sole
e disse:
" Ti ho ritrovata
luce calda della vita
luce dei miei sogni e della mente,
luce dei miei pensieri e della volonta"
E il sole della luce
soffio' la forza nei venti
e di nuvola in nuvola
aggrappato a pianeti celesti
con la disperata forza
della suo essere uomo
raggiunse il Sole
e piego' le ginocchia.
Poi con dita tese
scrisse sulle pareti del cielo:
- Ho vanificato la mia vita
alla ricerca di niente
mi sento perduto
ora
in questa immensita'.
Chiedo perdono. -
Il cielo ebbe pieta'
e una nuvola bianca
la piu' bianca
tra tutte le nuvole bianche
accecante ed inintelligibile
come l'infinito
lo avvolse nel Sole
lo stesso Sole
che lui aveva soffocato
e i suoi occhi si illuminarono
di pianto.
" Chi sei ? "
- Io sono la luce della speranza
di un mondo diverso
da quello che gli uomini conoscono,
non ho con me sicurezze per nessuno.
Sono la luce della verita'
che spegnete ogni giorno,
non ti offro certezza.
Cosa vuoi fare ora? -
L'uomo chiuse gli occhi,
terse le lacrime
e le tese la mano.
